Info: A fun way of disposing of your Christmas tree – nothing will lift your spirits like a bonfire at night.

What: Chamber Appreciation Banquet
When: mid-January
Where: AF Library
Info: Join us to celebrate a year of Chamber successes and honor our member’s of the year.

What: Chamber Cabin Fever Days
When: Last Saturday in January

Info: Join us in some fun local events to kick the winter blues- bunco tournament, soup cook-off, merchant golf, and more!


What: Power County Junior Miss
When: Mid-March
Where: American Falls High School
Info: Sponsored by the American Falls Rotary Club, this is a chance for junior ladies attending school in Power County to win college scholarships.


What: American Legion Easter Egg Hunt
When: Easter Sunday
Where: Willow Bay Marina
Info: Annual event held for over 50 years and one of the major Easter egg hunts in the area. Open to all children between the ages of 1 and 12, the hunt is split up geographically by age so that younger children are NOT competing against older children for prizes. Free and welcome to everyone!


What: American Falls Birding Festival
When: Second Saturday of May; May 13, 2017
Where: American Falls District Library
Info: Starting at the AF Library and moving to local birding areas from there, this is a family-friendly way to spend time out in nature. Free to participants, the festival is welcome to birders of all ages and experience levels. For more information, check out the American Falls Birding Festival website.


What: Father’s Day Fishing Derby
When: Father’s Day: June 18, 2017 (5 am to 5 pm)
Where: American Falls Reservoir
Info: Sponsored by the American Legion, this is a long-standing American Falls tradition. The winner receives a cash prize for the biggest fish caught by weight. A total of $1000 in cash prizes is given away in this derby – come join in the fun. For more information, be sure to check out the Willow Bay Marina website.

What: Summer Safety Blast and Bike Rodeo
When: Mid-June
Where: American Falls City Park
Info: Join the Chamber and the City of American Falls for the annual safety bike rodeo and get summer safety information from the hospital and other area businesses.


What: Salmon BBQ
When: Second Saturday in July: July 15, 2017
Where: City Park in American Falls (on Idaho Street)
Info: This is an annual fundraiser for the Power County Search & Rescue. They fly salmon in fresh from Alaska for this BBQ and also conduct a silent auction. This is a great cause and great food!


What: American Falls Day
When: First Saturday of each August: August 5, 2017
Where: City Park in American Falls (on Idaho Street)
Info: AF Day is a fun outing for the whole family to enjoy. Games, booths, and food are at the City Park, with the festivities kicked off by a parade (entry is free). See the AF Day page with more information!

What: Power County Fair & Rodeo
When: Starts the second weekend of August on August 11, 2017
Where: Power County Fairgrounds
Info: The Power County Fair Fair & Rodeo lasts all week! Animals, food, art, and 4-H projects are all entered and judged along with a Fatstock Sale on Friday night. Come on down and support our local youth.


What: Power County Hospital’s Brake for Breakfast
When: First Wednesday in October 7:00-9:00am, while supplies last
Where: American Falls City Park
Info: An annual breast cancer awareness event to ‘drive thru’ for participants to get a free breakfast, breast cancer information, and gift item.


What: Chamber Christmas Festival
When: First Saturday in December: December 2, 2017
Where: Downtown American Falls
Info: Sponsored by the Chamber, this is the official start to the Christmas season in American Falls. A day of fun activities like singing, food, bazaars, drawings, caroling, live Nativity, and much, more.

What: AF Sharps Concert Series
When: Throughout December
Where: Three different locations (St John’s, Rockland Community Church, and LDS Church)
Info: An amazing local choir ensemble, AF Sharps holds three concerts during the month of December at local churches. A wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit.
